The Benefits of a Radiant, Beautiful Smile

with Cosmetic Dentistry are Endless!

Cosmetic dentistry can give you the dazzling smile you’ve always hoped for. Most adults who don’t like the way their teeth look can be helped by a cosmetic dentist. Whether your teeth are crooked, broken, or yellowed, have been worn down through excessive grinding, or too much of your gums show when you smile, cosmetic dental care can restore your mouth and leave you confidently smiling.
Cosmetic dentistry includes a variety of procedures to improve the appearance of the teeth, reflecting the many reasons why people choose to undergo cosmetic dental surgery.
“I didn’t realize how stained my smile had gotten over the years. Regular cleanings weren’t enough anymore. I got a professional whitening done with Dr. Kamboh and it totally changed my smile. I didn’t expect it to work that well! Dr. Kamboh was excellent; I recommend all my friends to get their teeth whitened here!

Abigail, Sterling, VA

Abigail’s smile was dulled from stains accumulated over a period of time. As a daily coffee drinker, the stains had penetrated deep into her tooth enamel. Although she kept her teeth clean, the stains needed to be professionally removed.

Dr. Kamboh was able to provide her with a professional teeth whitening that transformed her smile. “Dr. Kamboh and his staff were so professional, and it felt like the results were so quick. I’m just amazed with how my teeth look!”

Abigail says she doesn’t feel embarrassed by her smile anymore and doesn’t have to hold back. “My friends can’t believe the difference; they all want to get it done. I tell them to come see Dr. Kamboh, he’s the best!”

Popular cosmetic dental care techniques include:

Teeth whitening to brighten teeth by removing discolorations such as yellow stains.

This is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic dentistry treatments. After whitening, your smile will appear whiter. This may be done with a peroxide-based whitening gel activated with a special light or with laser energy that is able to penetrate the enamel of the tooth.

Veneers restore teeth that are crooked, badly worn, or significantly stained.

Veneers are thin pieces of artificial, tooth-colored material which rest over the front surfaces of your teeth, making your teeth appear whiter, straighter, and more uniform in both size and color.
First, Dr. Kamboh shaves off a small thickness from the front of the teeth so that the veneers will not make the teeth any larger than they were. Then, a mold of your teeth is made so that the veneers can be custom-made for your mouth. In a few weeks, your veneers, which may be made of ceramic, porcelain, or composite materials, will be ready to cement to the front of the teeth.

Gum reshaping or contouring is a technique used by the cosmetic dentist when the gums are covering too much of the teeth.

If this occurs, the teeth appear too short or stubby. Gum trimming reveals more of the tooth, making the teeth appear larger in size. The procedure to re-contour the gums by trimming away excess tissue can be performed with a scalpel or laser.
Some dental procedures have both practical and cosmetic purposes.

For example, if you have lost a tooth, dental implants are a great option.

Dental implants can restore both the appearance and function of the tooth by providing an anchor for an artificial tooth to replace the one that has been lost.

Similarly, dental crowns cover damaged teeth.

A dental crown stabilizes the tooth’s structure while improving its appearance.

Orthodontic braces to correct unevenly spaced teeth are another example of a dental procedure with both structural and aesthetic benefits.
